Hey,
Most people call me Shade. This is my first DragonCon and I couldn't be more excited!

I am wondering, though, if you have to have a con membership to attend the aquarium event (Legend of the Chosen)??

Well, it's that time of year again.
My roommate and I are trying to fill our room in order to save a few bucks.
Making new friends for a weekend is pretty fun as well.

We have a room in the Marriott Marquis for the 4th year in a row.  We love it, being in the heart of the con is such a great experience.
We are...  4 Males (30, 35 and (2) 40 y/o's)  No smoking in the room obviously.  There will be booze, but this will NOT be a party room.   Beds will be first come first served(besides my friend that actually booked the room, he has priority).  We come in at all hours of the day/night, but will respect other roommates and try to stay quite when applicable.

We have the room from Wednesday night(8/28) until checkout Monday (9/2).    We are trying to fill the room(to 6 people maximum).   Price will be $260/person for the entire weekend(doesn't matter if you get there Wednesday night, or Friday night).   Priority goes to people wanting to stay at least Thursday thru Monday, and to pairs of people.

PM me, or respond to this post if interested.
Do not hesitate to ask me any additional questions, and to let me know a little about yourself.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
~Ant

You wouldn't happen to be interested in room sharing would you?

My buddy and I will probably have a few spots available in our room.

On a different, but related note, I have met more people from Knoxville at DC than I have actually met in Knoxville.

Just last Friday, I was at a workshop on planning for at-risk populations (hearing-deficient, visual-difficient, cognitive difficulties, etc.) in emergency management planning. Dry, but highly, informative. Afterward, the state RAD Health rep and I were talking about vacations. When I started talking about DC, the Health PIO and CDC RAD Health reps joined in. The lady with CDC will probably be joining us for Con.

On a different, but related note, I have met more people from Knoxville at DC than I have actually met in Knoxville.

--and my barista this morning saw my DC cap and started chatting; she was a volunteer last year.  I made the "we're-not-worthy" obeisance at her and told her we all loved her.   ;D
