Post by: DiscoLemonade on September 08, 2018, 10:43:07 PM
An annual tradition, sound off your high points from this years con. Mine:

--Return of the Lost Girl cast. They are so fun to see!
--Yesteryear Lagoon on Thursday night- way to go Alternate History track.
--KPOP dance class
--Hilton Lobby parties; Hilton is the new and improved Pulse Lounge, if you asked me
--Marriott Fountain Karaoke! Big thanks to ATL local "Dan the Man" for setting it up
--NC-17 Fanfiction Panel- hilarious and community-driven

- Asking Peter Capaldi to yell at me like Malcolm Tucker
- Meeting Tom Welling (what a handsome guy he is!)
- Getting to know some D*C friends better that I have briefly met before
- Meeting new people!
- Of course Hilton Karaoke with Sho'Nuff.  Always great to see them!

Ricky Whittle asking me to sniff his arm pits...?  :o Well, almost.  ;) (short answer: sort of talcum powdery)

I don't know what that means, but I love it! :)

I don't know what that means, but I love it! :)

someone asked him what kind of cologne he used. ( :o )  He said it was just himself, and it came from his armpits, and he was wandering around the ballroom at the time (followed at a distance by a couple of volunteers, which i thought was odd...) and caught me looking appalled, and plopped down close next to me to see what i thought.  i gave a thumbs up.  (seriously, he smelled fine.  nothing special.)

what was odd was that when he was on The 100 panels in past years, he was very quiet and low-key.  this was an American Gods panel and he was bouncing off the walls.  (haven't seen the show yet, so I don't know what the character is like...)

You should really watch American Gods, it is visually stunning, the writing is excellent.
I can't wait for season 2.
He was sitting at Karaoke at the bar for along while listening, so was the whole crew from Lost Girl.  They stayed for a long while.

-getting to visit with out of town friends we hadn't seen in a few years
-not getting trapped in a bouncing elevator with screaming people this year
-unown spawns for Pokemon Go :)
- #swordguychallenge hashtag on Twitter during the Sunday night masquerade  (we give mad props to sword guy, he is crazy fit to pull off his performance); also Eddie McClintock and Tony were the best host duo I've seen!  They had our room in stitches the entire time.
-loved the Ilona Andrews panel and that they let us into the room early since it was the first panel of the day and aired the live stream of the parade while we waited.
- John Barrowman/Catherine Tate panel was hilarious and I would love to see them together again.
