Hotel rates going up and rooms rolling over?
« on: August 26, 2018, 10:38:29 PM »
I hear a rumor that Host Hotel rates are going up to about $280 a night on the low end, but I also heard that most of the host hotels are going to roll over rooms for next year. Does anyone know if this is true?
I hate the price hike. Feels like we're being milked to death because they know we'll pay it. But I would be happy to know I have a room if I want it.

Hotel rates go up every year. I just expect it. TBH the con rate is pretty controlled by the convention itself - its when you see $400+ a night that the hotel is controlling it. Also hotels that are outside the blocks charge more then host hotels. Hyatt is at $241 a night next year which is the same as this year. As far as Im aware no announcements have been made about legacy rooms beyond the Hyatt (which were done earlier this month for 2019) and the Hilton (vouchers).

Well, the first year i went (2007), the hilton was $125/night.  :P. So, yeah, I wouldn t be surprised if they hike the rates; they seem to do it every couple years.
