Some of the updates we've heard from last meeting, and some are new.  So here ya go!  :)

-  App update suggestions were due in by March 1st and will be implemented accordingly.

-  All tracks sans one (possibly) will be removed from the Americas Mart.

-  Renovations in Hilton are near completion and we are assured they will be completed come start time for the convention.

-  Don't forget to log in on the new volunteer web site system if you have not.

-  DragonCon Awards 1st year launch successful.  Second year nominations are up and running.  Can nominate in only your preferred categories; do not have to nominate in every category.

-DragonCon Collective Facebook Group to share favorite books, movies, TV shows, etc.

-  Toy Drive hosted throughout the year.  Bring in anything you choose to donate to staff meetings.  DC also has an Amazon wish list for items to include for donation.

-  There is a Charity application list on file for DragonCon.  Any that you suggest for a possible supported DC charity for future Cons will be kept on file for 3 years.

-  DC will now match 100,00 dollars for this years official charity, the Georgia Special Olympics.

-  Please update any changes in your information in the volunteer database if you are a DC volunteer.

-  If a volunteer purchases a badge and then volunteers that same year instead they must write in a refund request for 30 days.

- Ritz and Omni now have DragonCon TV.

-  DC streaming continues, for members and non-members.

- Parking Panda also has DC guest rates for DragonCon meetings as well as the event itself.

-  The question was brought up at the meeting to consider a deal with Uber or Lift for DC transportation rates.  More on that later.

-  Military Sci-Fi track are adding Andromeda and Firefly to their covered show list for guests and panels.

Gaming:
-  E-Tournaments  needs bracketing and tournament set up members, etc.
-  Signage needs runners (3) and a boarder (1)
-  Board games:  Check out desk needs people.  Must be 18 and responsible.
-  LARP-  Needs 1 person for LARP HQ.

 Registration:  Needs help in several departments. 

On-Site I.T.:  1-2 slots need senior people (I.T experience)

Convention Operations:
-Concourse Stages needs 5 people.  Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs and be willing to learn new skills (running cable, pick up and coil cable, learn the equipment, set up and break down quickly, etc.)
-  Info services needs people.  Must be willing to and like to talk, plus know technology and be able to use the app via phone and/or tablet and be able to navigate FB to talk to the Info Services staff.
-  Security needs people with customer service experience, event staff experience, law enforcement and /or military skills are helpful,  as are organizational skills.
-  ConSuite needs people with restaurant or culinary experience, but preferably "minions" for runners and serving of all kinds.
-  Disability Services needs people as well.

-Load In/Load Out needs 15 people to deliver trucks and unlock materials for the Con.

-  Art Show needs people for set up, running, and breaking down.  Paperwork, data entry, hospitality, runners, set up, etc.

Guest Operations:
-  Walk of Fame has four areas main entry area, autographs, break-out rooms, photo-ops.  Line control people are needed, 5 openings at the moment for this position.  If you are a "fangirl" or "fanboy" type, do not apply.  You must have control and composure among celebrities.  Must be willing to sacrifice a lot of the Con time for the Walk of Fame scheduling and be willing to stand 8 hours at a time.

-  Airport transportation/Guest transportation.  Guest transportation needs coordinators for on-site loading in vans and on-site runs.  Airport trans always need drivers; must be 25 years old and can handle Atlanta traffic.  For Airport trans must be able to meet previous criteria and can handle the airport to hotel traffic route as well as navigate airport and load-in for transport.

-  DragonCon Guest Ops.  Escorts Guests from Walk of Fame to wherever they need to go.  Needs 2 people.  Must be in control of your temper as you are constantly in need of shielding your guest from fans and will be on your feet constantly.

-DragonCon Store needs 5-10 people, retail experience preferred but not required.

-  Tech Ops needs people for shifts from anywhere between Tuesdays up to Monday. 

DragonCon Tracks:
-  American Sci Fi Fantasy media needs 2 or 3 people
- Miliary Sci Fi track needs 1 person.
-  Puppetry needs 1 person for a regular volunteer and anyone with experience with ASD individuals.  Anyone that can assist as technicians (2 slots open.)
-  Costuming needs 1 person.   Needs to be available as early as 3PM on Thursday and late as Dead Dog on Monday.
-  Robotics needs 2(ish) people panels and robotics tournaments.
-  Photography might still be looking for people, so email them from the DragonCon web site to confirm.

-   DragonCon Streaming/Broadcasting/DragonConTV.  2 people are needed for assistance for broadcasting and set-up.

Thank you for all the great info there!  These kinds of posts always add to the excitement of it all.
I once thought I was an immortal Goa'uld, but as it turned out I'm just a confused mortal.

Definitely agreed.  :)  I have had questions in regard to where the America's Mart tracks are being moved to, but I have had zero updates.  You can always check their FB pages or Twitter feeds for updates, otherwise we can hope that by next staff meeting we will get a more concise breakdown of the restructuring.
