Tom Felton - QUESTION
« on: July 19, 2009, 05:58:45 PM »
So the only reason I am making the trip up to this con is to meet Tom Felton. So he REALLY is coming, right?

Just curious. Want to be 100% sure before I buy my ticket.

Schedules can always change, but as of today, he's confirmed.  If you're only coming for him, I would suggest waiting until the schedule is out (a week or two before the con) and then just buy a day pass for the day he's doing a panel and autographs.  That'll be an all day event as it is.  I do think, however, you'd have a good time regardless if he's there or not. :)

Thank you so much!

Haha. I think I'll just trust him not to cancel and buy the weekend pass. See, I'm from Texas and my parents would be ticked If I only went there for one day and that's it. It's a LONG drive.

Again, thanks for the response!

Haha. Thanks.

Okay, one more question!

I don't know if I should by online or at the door, they are both basically the same price. Never been to this con, so I want to know.

Will the line to buy at the door be really long? I mean, judging by the past lines.

And if you pre-reg, do you get your badge in the mail or at the convention?

Other cons I have been too had a pickup line for AT-DOOR and PRE-REG badges and they were both basically the same length and wait time.

Is their a significant difference at Dragon con in lines? Thanks in advance!

Where we pick up our badges and register is in a different hotel this year, and the D*C people think this will ease the time we stand in line.  When it was in the Hyatt, I'd get there on Thursday and stand in line for 90 mins or so to get my badge.  They do not do mail.  People say registering for the con when they arrive is a bit faster, but I always order my membership early so I get a nice badge.  The badge is different if you pre-order.  Minor detail, but if this is your first con, you might like to have the badge as a memento.

I would suggest you go ahead and get your membership online and pre-register.  If you can arrive on Thursday, that's a good day to get to your hotel and get your badge (registration is 4-10 on Thursday).  Really, though, whatever you do you will have to stand in line, but since they're changing the registration process this year, I can't say if it'll be longer or shorter than other years.

Just made reservations. I am coming on Thursday.

Okay, that answers my question. Thanks for all your help.

When does pre-reg end? I read the website though it didn't make it very clear. { Last question, promise! :p )

No idea, but I would guess a couple of weeks before the con.  Hopefully someone else here has an idea.  :)
