Concerning Leonard Nimoy's autograph
« on: July 26, 2009, 09:26:32 AM »
One of my friends requested that, if possible, I get her Leonard Nimoy's autograph. Does anyone know if he does autographs and if so, how much he charges?

I don't believe it is announced yet, but my guess is he will be set up in the walk of fame... a lot of the celebs there charge $15-$40... I would guess he could ask more than most at Dragon*Con....

Adam West charged $50, so expect that, at least, and possibly more.

He should have his own room for autographs.  Gonna be insane!

I got George Takei and Nichelle Nichols autograph last year and I think they were only $20 a piece.  But I have paid up to $100 for an autograph.

Does anyone know how much Terry Gilliam is going to be charging for his autograph? I wanted to get my Monty Python Encyclopedia signed. :D Thanks!

From what I could see online, it seems that he charged $60 at Comicon.

I saw another where they mentioned 65 - $75 at cons.

eeeh, i hope, for my wallet's sake, that he'll allow pictures.
costumes:
MTAC 2009: Laguna Loire  (rushed job)
Dragon*con 2009: Laguna Loire (hopefully repaired and finished)
Dragon*con 2010: Laguna (keeping it alive!)
Nod soldier (Kane lives!)
Murphy Macmanus (hopefully me and my friend will be able to pull off making both costumes)

Although this doesn't address your question directly in terms of an autogragh, I did run across the following for photo ops:

http://www.froggysphotos.com/dragonpresales.html

...suffice to say, I aint payin' $200 to anybody to have a pic with them (yeah, not Nimoy, but Stewart's got a lot of nerve).

Kinda makes you wonder where the Walk of Fame is heading.

.....i think i'll end up spending around 90-120 dollars then..... (Leonard Nimoy, Ron Glass, and Felicia Day)

I agree with you about Patrick Stewart, that is way too expensive. being that i favor the original series, patrick isn't as epic as Leonard and if Leonard can go for $60 a photo then patrick should go for equal (or less then in my view).

Totally agree with you. He did not make ST:TNG great. The cast did.

The problem I foresee is these "stars" upping the ante...one sets a precedence-the rest will follow.

I understand that this is how they make their coin by attending these conventions, but come on-$200 :o for a photo op ????

I easily fork-over $200+ in autographs at each con for friends, family and I...but I'm getting an 8-10 count for that cost.

And yep, Martele...TNG was an ensemble, again lotta nerve Stewarts got >:(, he dropped a bunch of pegs in my book.

are you looking for a formal pix?  or maybe an informal one?

This'll be my first time to D*con and I'm considering purchasing a photo op with one of the celebs on the page listed in the link provided in this thread: (http://www.froggysphotos.com/dragonpresales.html)

Can someone explain to me the general photo-op process? This is all new to me so I want to know what to expect. Is there any time when taking the photo with the celeb for small brief chit chat asking him/her a fan question or are all the paying customers filed quickly to get their pics taken? Also, is it only formal poses only? Or can something like this be done with Leonard Nimoy for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Vulcannervepinch.jpg

with me being the guy in the red shirt.

Looking forward to any replies, thanks :)

There really is no standard process for photo-ops.

Some celebs love to talk to fans and do goofy poses while others are all business.

Roll the dice and take your chances. :-)
