Charity Auction

Charity Auction
« on: August 21, 2014, 03:00:13 PM »
So after five years of coming to Dragon Con, there are still some things that I'm a "newbie" about.

I know DC does a charity auction. One thing I've never been clear on is whether or where the auction items are displayed for inspection or listed prior to the auction(s). Or do you not know what's being offered until the auction itself?

Enquiring minds want to know.

I'd be interested to know about this as well. I know I once read about a Stargate Charity Auction. Is that the auction or just one for the Stargate track?

bitbe, the Stargate auction is separate, run by the SGM track. It's listed in the pocket program for 4:00 Sunday afternoon, in Hanover C-E in the Hyatt.

I finally found the answer to my question about the DC Auction in the pocket program PDF, albeit in two different places. The listing for the auction (which is Sunday at 10:00 am, same room in the Hyatt) says to stop by the donation booth prior to the auction to see some of the items. Elsewhere in the program, it says the donation booth is at the Marriott, at the Marquis Ballroom Registration booth; open 9:00 am - 7:00 pm Friday and Saturday.

Thanks for the links, Trathor!

There is also the auction attached to the Art Show! Tons or great handmade items to see. Its always located right next to the Pop and Comic Arts vendor area (where alot of the guest comics artists have tables with things to sell). Not all pieces for sale will go to charity, but many will so be sure to check it out this year!
