periodic table in the parade
« on: January 15, 2009, 06:03:43 PM »
Hey, folks! I want to get 110 people together and go in the 2009 parade as the periodic table of the elements. It's easy -- pick an element, then do whatever you want to be that element. You can think big or think simple; the only "rule" is that you write the element's info on your costume. For instance, my Hydrogen costume will include:

1
H
Hydrogen
1.008

Here's a Google spreadsheet showing what's been taken so far and what is still available:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pLNs7r9AZkuTGCmkx_0FmVw

There are also Facebook and LJ groups to help keep everything organized:

There are plenty of elements left. If you want to participate, reply here!

I would think the metals might be pretty easy - as long as you don't mind shiny body paint.  ;D

Don't know what y'all have in mind, but pun-ny ones or ones that are a play on words associated with the element would be very fun. Challenging, but that's what makes it fun, right?

I'm going to be manganese - was hoping to do a group for the "heavy metals" so far, no takers  :-(

Man, I'm surprised at that - I would think that "heavy metals" group would be the one EVERYONE would want to be in - I LOVE that idea.

Hope some folks step forward to take you up on it - I have forwarded the URL for the post on to other DCon costumers here in Nashvegas.
