han solo blaster
« on: May 26, 2009, 12:21:20 AM »

I found a pretty nifty blaster from Blast-Tech and wondered if anyone has bought from them before?  It looks damn good, and the site that is a wonderful guide for Han Solo costuming mentions someone from a past D*C got theirs from this site and was quite pleased.  Just looking for other opinions because although I want one, even to just put on display in my home, I sure as heck can't afford the up to $1,000 for a replica.

Plus if I can sneak it past the hubby, I might buy it for this year's con and do my female version of Han...with corset, of course. ;)

I don't have any experience with the Blast Tech model, I read the link....states that it is metal.

I handled the one that Master Replicas released a few years back-the fill size 1/1 scale. The first thought when picking it up was, "Wow this thing is HEAVY". Commenting to my friend that it's actually alot heavier than a real Mauser even with a full mag.

The reason I bring this up is because Master Replicas decided to do the blaster as a metal casting-that's great to display, and cheaper to build-but you need to find out if the Blast-Tech make is made the same.

Why? Try putting that in a holster...won't be a comfy experience while it drags down.

Just my .02 to help out.
