Got my tunic from the tailor this morning
« on: August 26, 2014, 10:03:30 AM »
I put together a quick Star Trek uniform for this weekend. Ordered the Anovos replica tunic, but it came EXTREMELY baggy, which was not surprising because I am a very skinny person. I ordered a Medium because I have long arms (and the sleeves are still about a quarter of an inch too short, I think.) Took it to the tailor Saturday and just picked it up. Can't really tell from the selfie, but I really like how it fits now. They did a great job. Can't wait to get to the party!!

Interestingly enough, I ordered the color I found was cheapest. I would have preferred engineering red, but for some reason it's in high demand and at least at the time cost more than the gold by a good $20 to $30. But, I'm not disappointed with my choice! The gold makes me feel like, well, the captain of my own ship. =)

That is odd. Anyway it is looking good. Hope you are rocking it at the Room party.

Oh wow, LOVE that! Don't know how it looked before but with the adjustments, everything looks great!  ;D Really love Anovos replicas!

In retrospect I kinda wish I'd taken a "before" photo. It really was a bag. I can't imagine a "medium"-sized person even filling it out. Even the arms were bags.

LOL, that's crazy! But good info to know if I ever decide I should buy one from them! ;)

Oh man do I feel your pain. I'm 6'2" 160 pounds with very long arms so I'm right there with you. If it fits my torso, the arms are too short. If the sleeves are right, it's too baggy. Ugh. Nice looking job on your tunic though. Thank goodness for tailors!
